Multi Arts announces classes
Multi Arts Center is offering a wide variety of classes this spring.
“We are excited about our new class line up. Many of these classes are being offered for the first time with new instructors. There are classes for most ages, with many for ages 14 years and above. We also have spring break activities for younger children,” said Jessica Novak, MAC supervisor.
To sign up for classes or to request a spring class catalog, call 533-8539 or stop by Multi Arts Center at 1001 S. Duck, just north of Stillwater Public Library. Class fees may be paid for with credit card.

• Relief Printmaking (Ages 16 and up) — Kristin Gentry
Relief printing refers to the process of removing material from a block and creating a print from the remaining raised surface. Learn how to transfer images onto a block, carve them out, and professionally print multiples to complete a body of work. Sundays, 2-5 p.m.; Feb. 24-April 27. No class March 16 or April 13. Class Fee: $85.
• Beginning Needlefelting (Ages 14 and up) — Gloria Galasso
Students will complete a simple needlefelted project in this workshop while learning the proper use of equipment and the basics of shaping and color. March 1, 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Class Fee: $40.
• Intermediate/Advanced Needlefelting (Ages 14 and up) — Gloria Galasso
Complete a sculptural project in needlefelting. Students will build on basic skills by learning more advanced techniques in the use of shaping, color blending and detailing. Students must have taken Beginning Needlefelting or have the approval of the instructor to participate. March 8, 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Class Fee: $45.
• Sculptural Needlefelting (Ages 14 and up) — Gloria Galasso
Students who have completed the Advanced Needlefelting class are invited to learn how to create a miniature sculpture. Students will learn how to use armature and advanced color techniques. Saturdays, 10 a.m-2:30 p.m. March 15-22. Class Fee: $55.
• Oil Painting (Ages 18 and up) — Rudy Miller and Mary Ann Wade
Basic to advanced information on using oil paints in any of several different techniques. Paint from your choice of photographs, sketches or other source material. Students will also critique each others paintings in order to evaluate improvement. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 6:30-9:30 p.m. March 4-19 Class Fee: $80. Supply list.
• Glass Bead Making for Beginning and Intermediate Students (Ages 18 and up) — Kira Frisby
Continue to learn new techniques in glass bead making! Learn how to make twisty, refine your technique, and more. Students ages 15–17 are welcome to enroll with a parent or guardian. Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 6-April 3. No class March 20. Class Fee: $40.
• Spring into Art! (spring break for public schools) — Jacqui Savage and Dianne Puckett
Get creative during the spring break vacation! Fun and artistic one day workshops will give kids a chance to try a variety of different art projects, including painting, drawing, cooking, and more. Noon-4 p.m. March 18, first graders. March 19, second graders. March 20, third graders. Fee: $50.
• Basket Weaving (Ages 12 and up) — Jewel Wise
Learn the basic weaving skills needed to complete an attractive 8-inch square shaped basket with a handle. March 22, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Class Fee: $30.
