Choral Festival participants

— Shelby Holcomb, Judith Prenzlow, Kellie Rong and Mackenzie Starks participated in the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association 2008 Choral Festival in Oklahoma City in January. They were chosen after auditions in November when more than 2,000 seventh, eighth and ninth grade students tried out for the 228-voice choir. Holcomb, Rong and Starks are freshmen at Stillwater Junior High. Prenzlow is in the eighth grade. All four are active in the vocal music program at the junior high under the direction of Teresa Nokes. After three days of rehearsals, the choir presented a concert at Bethany First Nazarene Church. It included the Jazz Honor Choir, Junior High All-State Honor Choir and the High School Women’s Honor Chorus.
