Actor talks about work dilemmas

Actor Judith Hawking will draw on her theater experience to discuss how to handle difficult work situations at 7 p.m. Thursday at Oklahoma State University.

The 55-minute, interactive seminar will explore ways to approach difficult situations and to find solutions to problems in the workplace.

“The theater provides a lot of wisdom, which can be used in a variety of working situations,” said Matthew Tomlanovich, assistant professor of theater.

“This seminar will look at problem solving in a new way and allow people to gain a better understanding of how to deal with difficult people and complex situations.”

Hawking, originally from Canada, has been an actor for 25 years. She began her professional career in the United States after earning a master’s of fine arts from the California Institute of the Arts.

For the past decade, she has been based in New York, working in both on- and off- Broadway productions, regional theater, independent films, studio films, television and commercials.

The seminar will be in the Jerry L. Davis Studio Theatre in Gunderson Hall. It is free and open to the public.
