Martindale

Rod and Jo Ann (Via) Martindale, Stillwater, celebrated their 60th anniversary before and after Stillwater Community Choir's spring concert Thursday with a reception hosted by their children, Craig, Kerry, Kent and Kirk.
Attending the celebration were Mrs. Martindale's sisters, Jean Maciole, Springfield, Mo., and Virginia Huckett, Tulsa; Martindale's brother, Rob Martindale, Tulsa; their daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and Robert Wagoner, Oklahoma City; their son Kirk Martindale and his four children; their son Kent Martindale; and Mary Lee Wagoner.
They were married April 24, 1948, in Stillwater. Both were from Blackwell. After marriage, they moved to Stillwater, where their son Craig and daughter Kerry were born. They lived at 107 W. West, where the Eskimo Joe's parking lot is now.
In 1950, Martindale took a job with Hoyt Oil Co. in Bartlesville, moving the family there. He later went to work for Phillips Petroleum Co. He was active in youth sports, and she directed choir groups at First Baptist Church. Martindale became director of Rocky Mountain Crude Oil Supply for Phillips, and in 1977, they moved to Littleton, Colo.
They retired in 1993 and returned to Stillwater to be closer to their now 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They stay busy with Judith Karman Hospice Services and Stillwater Community Choir.
