O.E. and Lulu Mae (Welch) McAnally will celebrate their 65th anniversary with a reception Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Coyle Christian Church.
They were married March 14, 1943, in Langley Field, Va. He was from Coyle, and she was from Scipio, Ind.
They have three daughters, Bonnie Johnston, Bixby; Marlene McAnally, Coyle; and Beverly McAnally Roden, Chelsea. They have three granddaughters and two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
McAnally left Guthrie with the National Guard and the 45th Division in September 1940. Later, he transferred to the 2006th Ord. and in 1943 went to England and serviced the vehicles of the 8th Air Force. When he left the military, he and his wife moved to Coyle and operated a Grade A dairy for three years.
McAnally worked as a rural mail carrier for 22 years and sold horse and cattle trailers for 25 years. Then he and his wife established McAnally’s Convenience Stores in Coyle, Perkins, Edmond, Seminole, Perry and Ada and then retired again.
Friends and family members are invited to the reception. The couple requests no gifts.
